What should I expect for my Initial Physiotherapy Appointment?

Leading up to your appointment, Body In Mind Physio will send out an email confirmation upon booking the appointment and an SMS reminder the day before the appointment with all of our details. An intake form is provided in the email confirmation. During your appointment, your Physiotherapist will take a subjective and objective assessment following by treatment that could include manual therapy, exercise prescription and education around your issue. You will likely get one or two exercises to do at home between sessions. Initial appointments take around 45 minutes to an hour. We ask that you allow for up to an hour.

What should I expect for subsequent Physiotherapy Appointments?

During follow up appointments, your Physiotherapist will ask some questions to ascertain whether the current treatment plan is working. Depending on the response, treatment may look similar to your previous session or it may need to be adjusted. We ask that patients allow up to 30 minutes for follow up treatment sessions

Do you accept Private Health Insurance?

Yes, we have a HICAPS machine that we can swipe or scan your card. Your health fund will provide a benefit and then you will likely have a gap to pay which varies depending on your health fund. Photos and screenshots of your card do not work on our machine. We ask if you can bring your physical card or you can tap using your digital card on the health fund app or your digital wallet.

Is there parking?

There is free 2 hour on-street parking on Robert Street. There is often ample parking within Robert Street. If it is a busy day, you may need to park on a nearby street which is also free timed parking.

What should I wear to an appointment?

Generally, anything is fine to wear as long as we can access the area of concern. For knees and hips, shorts are advisable and for shoulders, a loose fitting shirt or a singlet would be ideal.

Does Body In Mind Physio see patients under Workers Compensation and CTP schemes?

Yes. Body In Mind Physio requires a doctor’s referral for Worker’s Compensation and CTP. Upon receiving the referral along with your claim number, treatment can commence.

Does Body In Mind Physio accept DVA cards?

Yes, Body In Mind Physio accepts DVA cards. You will require a doctor’s referral before treatment can commence.

Does Body In Mind Physio accept Medicare Care Plans?

Yes. We ask that your doctor emails your referral to us or that you bring your paperwork along to your initial appointment. Full payment is required at the end of the treatment session and the Medicare rebate will be processed within 24hrs of your appointment.

Do you accept participants within the NDIS?

Yes. Body In Mind Physio accept NDIS participants. Generally, we provide in-clinic consultations only however depending on proximity to Wickham, home visits can be discussed depending on clinician availability.

Do I need a referral if I am a private patient?

No. Private patients who are not under worker’s compensation, DVA or CTP scheme do not need a referral to receive treatment. You are welcome to book through our online booking platform or give us a call to book in an appointment.
